Personal agents may operate across email, messaging and phone calls

Personal agents may need to operate primarily through channels people already use, including email, text messaging, Slack and phone calls, rather than requiring a dedicated app or browser. Any app could remain in the background, while an agent might also call a merchant directly.

The proposed model emphasizes transparency: an agent should identify itself as an agent rather than impersonating the person it represents. In a Petco ordering interaction, the agent reportedly refused to pretend to be the user, with transparency framed as important for trust.
