Scripto expands its collaborative cloud platform beyond scriptwriting

Scripto is a cloud-based, API-enabled platform designed to carry information from a script to every production department in the format it needs. It can connect with tools for script breakdowns, budgeting, scheduling and concept art, while allowing data to flow into other workflow systems.

The product was initially created to coordinate productions involving more than 200 people and to prevent outdated decisions from reaching departments. It gives users a shared view of the material, with permissions controlling who can add or change information.

Scripto is used by about a dozen shows and is being adapted for different production types, including variety, narrative and presentational content, as well as video games. The team says it is expanding beyond its initial strength in variety production and emphasizes collaboration between users and departments.
