Podcast guests praise Cybertruck’s self-driving ride but criticize its manual driving feel

In a discussion of the Tesla Cybertruck, participants contrasted riding in self-driving mode with driving the vehicle themselves. One participant called its 48-volt architecture and steer-by-wire technology interesting, and noted that the vehicle can drive itself. He added that he would not fully trust that function.

Another host, who had recently bought a Cybertruck, said it drove well in self-driving mode but was uncomfortable to operate manually. In his view, the ride became jerky and the yoke steering wheel was unpleasant. He described the vehicle as a “dystopian fridge moving down the road.”

The automotive creator agreed that self-driving could be a better experience but emphasized how unfamiliar the Cybertruck’s steering felt. He said the vehicle determines how much input and output occurs, making it feel unlike other cars. These were the participants’ personal impressions, not an independent assessment of the system’s safety.
