Guest expects consumer AI agents to monetize through ads and transaction fees
Discussing the personal-agent market, the panel suggested that consumers may be reluctant to pay directly for these services. One guest expects Meta to monetize consumer products later through advertising and e-commerce, rather than immediately after introducing a new ad format.
Another possible model is a fee tied to an outcome or transaction: if a consumer agent interacts with a business agent to facilitate a deal, the platform could, in the guest’s estimate, take 5%. The guest also saw potential for consumer and business agents to interact, but described this as a possible scenario. He said these markets are interesting, though they may not immediately become trillion-dollar markets.
