Streaming services are evaluating vertical dramas, including romantic, horror and true-crime formats, as growth slows and platforms seek more ways to attract viewers.

Peacock is described as having already added some vertical programming, while Netflix and other services are said to be examining it. Services are also looking at YouTube creators and podcasts, with the view that they will pursue attention-generating formats if they can integrate them sensibly; vertical dramas are described as less suited to Apple than to other platforms.
