Trust and task completion may become moats for personal agents

Traditional data lock-in may be a weaker moat for personal agents because AI could automate the complex process of offboarding from one service and onboarding to another, although the process may initially be clumsy. The ability to move prompts and memories between OpenAI and Anthropic was cited as an existing example of this kind of switching.

The analysis identifies trust in a company and dependable task completion as potential primary moats. Meta was described as having a major disadvantage if consumers do not trust it with personal-agent data, while products that reliably get tasks done may retain users.
