Activision positions Modern Warfare 4’s Kill Block as a dynamically changing mode
Activision says its marketing team was involved in Modern Warfare 4 from the greenlight stage and helped shape how Kill Block would be presented. The mode uses a map that changes between rounds, with approximately 500 possible combinations—described elsewhere as potentially infinite—making memorizing a fixed layout less useful.
The concept was partly inspired by the changing configuration of the Real Madrid Stadium, whose field can be replaced for concerts, basketball and other events. Activision showcased Kill Block at Fanatics Fest and used documentary-style campaign material to establish the setting and distinguish the experience from the multiplayer and new DMZ content.
The company said additional campaign material was expected at Tokyo Game Show later that week.
