Pulsar targets GPS gaps with satellite-based positioning
A Pulsar representative said the company’s system is designed to complement satellite communications with precise location and timing data where GPS performs unreliably. He cited GPS interference and jamming, everyday navigation errors, and the dependence of aviation, drones, time synchronization, and logistics on legacy systems. He said Pulsar designed its signal and network around user equipment so integration could require only a software update rather than a custom chipset. According to the representative, the company has demonstrated the system with devices ranging from chips for pet collars to military and aviation receivers, and has tested signal penetration indoors and performance against jamming. He said the stronger signal can be easier to receive and may reduce battery drain; that is the company’s claim, not an independent measurement.
