Vinod Khosla expects personal agents to form a diverse, non-winner-take-all market

Vinod Khosla expects personal agents to become a broad, diverse category rather than a winner-take-all market. He said major companies including Meta and Google will develop agents with different trade-offs, while startup agents may move faster.

Khosla said agents can handle browsing and research, present options, and ask users interactive questions. He identified advertising incentives and users’ willingness to trust companies with their data as fundamental differences between products. Alex Kerr argued that processes such as browsing and comparing options are part of the experience, and that personal agents may be absorbed into existing products rather than remain a standalone category.
