Nvidia expands from AI platform provider toward its own products

Nvidia is described as profitable and growing rapidly while relying on AI companies to buy what it sells. The analysis says the company is moving from being primarily a platform provider toward becoming a product company, including through a recent acquisition.

As Nvidia begins shipping products, potentially in additional areas, it may compete with more companies and change how the market perceives it. Continued growth in AI currently benefits Nvidia, but the analysis says the company believes its own products are needed to sustain that growth.

The longer and larger the AI wave continues, the better it is likely to be for Nvidia, unless a stronger competitor emerges or its competitive advantages are displaced—an outcome the analysis says could eventually happen in technology.
