Ramp raises $1.85 billion; interview participants cite different company valuations
Ramp raised $1.85 billion in a financing round, co-founder and co-CEO Eric Glyman said. He put the company's valuation at $6.9 billion. The host, introducing the deal and its investors, cited a $60 billion valuation and said Christian Jensen of Dragoneer Investment Group led the round; the host also listed Thrive Capital, Founders Fund, Sands Capital and Avenir as participants. The interview therefore gave two substantially different valuations and did not explain the discrepancy.
Glyman called the round the company's most exciting yet, while stressing that the work was not finished. He said Ramp was growing at more than 100% annually, with its growth rate more than 25% higher than a year earlier. In the summer, the company first reported annualized revenue above $2 billion.
