A Multi-City Music Act Could Turn Concert IP into Parallel Residencies

A proposed music act could be designed as a multi-stage production, using masks, helmets or multiple performers to appear simultaneously in New York, Las Vegas and Miami. The model could increase revenue from the act’s intellectual property while reducing the need for the original artist to travel.

The trade-off would be a weaker sense of personal presence and potentially lower ticket premiums than for a show featuring the actual artist. Deadmau5, Tiësto, Marshmello, Slipknot and Daft Punk are cited as examples of acts associated with masks or helmets.
