First Human Mars Mission Could Come in the 2030s

A first human mission to Mars could take place in the 2030s. A substantial build-out of robotic precursors beforehand would not be surprising.

The Moon may not be the best place for a permanent settlement: it has fewer natural resources to use than other possible destinations, including Mars.
