Actinide says it produced HALEU and is preparing to scale commercially

Actinide says it became the first startup to enrich uranium and produce high-assay, low-enriched uranium (HALEU), a fuel for next-generation reactors. The company says the U.S. Department of Energy identifies no current domestic supply and that it aims to change this from Dallas, Texas, using a calutron-based process with redesigned, more energy-efficient equipment.

After emerging from stealth, Actinide says it has made several commercial deliveries of refined medical isotopes to Oklo Isotopes, worth about $30,000 per gram, and is pursuing additional deals. The company plans to work with regulators to scale HALEU production, but the transition from one-time production to commercial scale still faces technological and regulatory challenges; no timeline or signed HALEU contracts was provided.

The founder says he invested more than $1 million of his own money before the company raised a seed round and moved from R&D to commercial deliveries and expansion into different markets.
