1Password launches an access-control product for AI agents

1Password has launched 1Password for Agents, the company’s CEO said. He named SpaceX SI, MetaMuse, Anthropic and OpenAI among the launch partners. The product is built around giving agents only the access they need, only when they need it, with full visibility, he said. The company sees this as important because agents can act unpredictably, including taking unintended actions or being misused. The aim is to reduce standing access to credentials and secrets; the CEO said the system is designed to keep secrets out of model context.
