Regent raises $240 million in Series B as it scales Seaglider production
Regent has closed a $240 million Series B round. The company reports about $10 billion in commercial backlog, consisting of firm orders and nonrefundable deposits, with more than $10 million already paid toward that backlog.
Regent also reports about $20 million in defense orders, the majority associated with the U.S. Marine Corps, and says its defense business is growing quickly. The company is based in Rhode Island and has about 120 employees.
Following the financing, Regent plans to expand its team and production at a 250,000-square-foot Rhode Island factory. The facility is intended to build both the large Viceroy and smaller Squire Seagliders; the company has not disclosed all commercial customers or precise delivery timelines.
